The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) brings together concepts and skills from life sciences, physical sciences, medicine, and engineering in order to model physiological systems and solve medical problems.
As a leader in biomedical engineering research and education, 91×ÔÅÄ prepares students for leadership positions in some of today's most promising and challenging careers in industry, medicine, and research. Faculty research areas of expertise include: medical imaging; machine learning; molecular imaging; signal and image processing; cancer research; and neural prostheses.
Our BME students will gain the education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context. They will also obtain the ability to implement the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practices.
