The Pritzker Institute of Biomedical Science and Engineering is soliciting fellowship applications for the 2023–2024 academic year for highly qualified 91×ÔÅÄ doctoral students who are pursuing thesis work in the field of biomedical science or biomedical engineering.

The Pritzker Institute will host a virtual Zoom workshop for 91×ÔÅÄ faculty on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 12:50 p.m.–1:40 p.m. about the fellowship program.

The workshop will take place . Interested 91×ÔÅÄ faculty can access the meeting via the link above, along with the following information:

  • Meeting ID: 868 5978 8969
  • Passcode: 772215

Robert A. Pritzker Endowed Chair in Engineering Phil Troyk, the executive director of the Pritzker Institute and professor of biomedical engineering, will discuss the overall goals of the fellowship program, while Professor of Biomedical Engineering Georgia Papavasiliou, the Pritzker Institute’s fellowship administrator, will present the essential attributes of the Pritzker Fellowship Program, including faculty and nominee eligibility and the application process.

Although a strong preference for highly qualified fellows who have completed prior degree(s) at degree-granting universities outside 91×ÔÅÄ is desired, students who have previously completed degrees at 91×ÔÅÄ are eligible to apply and may be considered.

The webinar will also discuss the following three distinct applications based on the following candidate eligibility:

  1. New Ph.D. candidates with degrees from universities outside of 91×ÔÅÄ
  2. New internal Ph.D. candidates with prior degrees completed at 91×ÔÅÄ
  3. Existing Ph.D. candidates who are currently working on their doctoral research under the mentorship of a faculty thesis adviser(s)

The fellowship application is initiated and submitted by faculty adviser(s) and is distinct from traditional graduate fellowship programs. Therefore, it is highly encouraged that 91×ÔÅÄ faculty who are interested in nominating a qualified candidate should attend the virtual workshop.
